The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol, first appearing in Ancient Egypt, of the serpent eating its own tail in an endless loop. This powerful symbol suggests the cyclicality of time and nature, as well as the idea of the soul and the continuity of life. In Jungian ‘inner alchemy’ it is a ‘dramatic symbol for the integration and assimilation of the Shadow.’  Much like the Phoenix, it is said to be a symbol for destruction and rebirth.

 Here, the Ouroboros is a life cast snake in sterling silver, paired with a magnifying lens, a symbol for ‘looking closer’ with intention and attention to detail.
