The second in a series of signet rings, an antique (1920’s era) Cosmic or Orphic Egg pendant has been married to a classic signet ring. Signet rings are ancient in design and were often seen as symbolic of a person’s identity and power, often used throughout history as the ‘signature’ of the wearer. Here, an ancient symbol is used as a powerful personal talisman.

 In Greek Myth, The Cosmic/Orphic egg symbolizes the source of the universe, protected by the serpent. Coiled around the ‘silver’ egg, Serpent was thought to similarly coil around Earth. Incubated in darkness, the first thing thought to have sprung from this egg is Light.

 The signet is cast in sterling silver and is 22mm tall and close to 20mm wide. It sits 10mm tall off of the finger.
